On March 7, 2018, BOE Wuhan's 10.5 generation TFT-LCD liquid crystal display line supporting glass substrate project officially started.

A total of 62 projects with a total investment of 104.9 billion yuan have started concentratedly, marking the official start of the city’s investment promotion projects.
This city-wide centralized construction activity has a main venue and 13 sub-venues. The 62 projects include not only the contracted projects in 2017, but also new projects this year.

Among them, 31 industrial projects, with a total investment of 45.7 billion yuan, are mainly investment manufacturers that use more electronic equipment such as industrial liquid crystal displays and industrial touch displays; 27 modern service industry projects, with a total investment of 32.3 billion yuan, are used for touch screen applications. There are many electronic products such as touch screen inquiry machines of display technology.
10.5-generation TFT-LCD liquid crystal display glass substrate project is a supporting project of BOE's panel production line.
In August last year, BOE stated in its investment announcement that “promoting the establishment of a glass substrate project for a competitive glass substrate manufacturer in Wuhan, and reaching an agreement with the glass substrate manufacturer on the supporting plan for the production line project in Wuhan”.
In addition, the mainland has rapidly expanded its production capacity of large-size TFT LCD panels in recent years. According to research institutions, in 2019, mainland companies will surpass Vietnamese and Korean manufacturers in their production capacity of large-size TFT LCD panels, leading to the forefront.
It is estimated that the total production capacity of small and medium-sized AMOLED LCD panels of mainland manufacturers in 2022 will reach 11.31 million square meters, second only to South Korean manufacturers.
