                                  Increase in customer base for Samsung display QD-OLED displays

Samsung Display has successfully increased the number of customers for QD-OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display panels.

According to Korean media news on June 20th, Samsung Display is supplying panels to leading display brands such as Samsung Electronics, Dell, Philips, MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte.

Samsung Display has recently added 25 products and collaborated with 10 global display brands to provide panels for over 100 QD-OLED displays. Especially since joining Samsung's QD-OLED customer list for the first time last year, Phillips has been expanding its product line.

Many QD-OLED panels on Samsung displays are installed in gaming specific displays.

In the gaming market characterized by fast screen switching speed, it is highly welcomed by gamers who pursue high immersion and realism. Based on this, after being launched for 2 years and 6 months in 2021, the cumulative shipment volume of this product exceeded 1 million units in May.

According to market research firm Trend Force, global OLED display shipments reached 200000 units in the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year increase of 121%. The total shipment volume for this year is expected to reach 1342000 units, an increase of 161% compared to the previous year.
