The IPC is a ruggedized industrial computer that can operate reliably in industrial environments as an industrial controller. As early as the early 1990s, the American AD company launched a similar industrial computer. Because of its reliable performance, fanless layout, compact size, and low cost, IPCs are widely used in IPCs.
The industrial computer often runs in a more sinister environment, and the security requirements for data are also higher, so the industrial computer usually carries out special plans such as reinforcement, dust-proof, moisture-proof, corrosion-proof, and radiation-proof.
The industrial computer has higher requirements for scalability, and the interface design needs to meet specific external structures. Therefore, in most cases, the industrial computer must be customized to meet the needs.
The layout of the industrial computer can be divided into 5 types:
1. Passive backplane:
The passive backplane is designed to be a multi-slot backplane based on the bus layout mode (such as STD, ISA, PCI bus, etc.), and various functional templates can be inserted into the backplane slots, such as CPU motherboard, CRT display interface board, etc.
The layout of the bottom plate is based on the modular design concept, which can be designed into different functional templates according to different control, forming a control system of different control tools. The backplane of a one-sided PC is an integrated body of the bus and the power module, which increases the power efficiency (less slots), but saves space.
2. CPU card:
There are many kinds of IPC CPU cards, which can be divided into long cards and half-length cards according to the size, and the processor can be divided into 386, 486, 586, PII, PIII motherboards, users can choose according to their needs. Its main features are: working temperature 0-60 ℃; equipped with a "watchdog" timer; low power consumption, 5V/2.5A when it is larger.
3. Industrial power supply:
Industrial electricity is generally 3-phase 380 volts. The industrial power supply can start the motor, and can change the rolling direction, in addition, it can avoid excessive current and fever when using high-power electrical appliances.
4. All-steel chassis:
The all-steel chassis is designed according to the standard, which is anti-shock, anti-vibration and anti-electromagnetic interference, and a passive backplane compatible with PC-bus can be placed inside.
5. Other accessories:
All other accessories of IPC are basically compatible with PC, mainly including CPU, memory, graphics card, hard disk, floppy drive, keyboard, mouse, optical drive, display and so on.
The industrial computer very well solved the limited problems of the early industrial computer, such as large size, difficult to destroy the chassis, inconvenient protection, inability to operate in black mode, and inability to fully meet the requirements of the embedded environment.
