The effect of moisture on product life
Although almost all displays can work normally under 95% humidity environment, humidity is another important factor affecting product life. The humid gas enters the IC device through the bonding surface of the packaging material and the component, causing the internal circuit to oxidize and disconnect the circuit. The high temperature in the assembly welding process causes the humid gas entering the IC to enter the thermal expansion and generate pressure, causing the plastic to occur on the chip or lead frame. Internal separation (delamination), wire bond damage, chip damage, internal cracks and cracks extending to the surface of the component, and even component bulging and bursting, are also called "popcorn", which leads to assembly rework and even scrapping. More importantly, these invisible and potential defects will be incorporated into the product, leading to problems with product reliability. Improvements in the reliability of the wet environment include the use of moisture-proof materials, dehumidifiers, and protective coating closures.
The impact of vibration on product life
During normal use and testing, electronic devices are often exposed to environmental shocks and vibrations. When the final mechanical stress caused by the deflection exceeds the allowable working stress of the component, the environment can cause physical damage to the component and the structural component.
The influence of load on product life
Whether it is an integrated chip or an LED tube or a switching power supply, whether it is running under a rated load, the load is also an important factor affecting the life. Since any component has a period of fatigue damage, taking the power supply as an example, the brand power supply can output 105% to 135% of the power. However, if the power supply is operated for a long time under such a high load, the aging of the switching power supply will accelerate. Of course, the switching power supply does not necessarily fail immediately, but it will quickly shorten its life.
