Many friends who buy LCD screens often ask this question: How long can the LCD screen be used? Does it have any effect on the service life under different use environments? Today we will learn about the use time of the LCD screen together. .

In order to ensure the quality and longevity of the product, LCD manufacturers must perform an accelerated aging test called a reliability test on the product to provide users with reliable products.

For example, for products that are renewed in a 5-year cycle, an accelerated test assuming that there will be no failure in 5 years is required. If the accelerated aging test is qualified, it proves that the design of the product is reasonable and the product can be shipped from the factory. As an example of an accelerated test, tests such as high temperature, high humidity, and low temperature are performed.

Put the LCD module in an environment (constant temperature box) with a temperature of +60 or +80°C and a relative humidity of 70% or 80%, and apply a voltage to make it display for 500 hours or 1000 hours, and investigate the failure rate of the LCD module. Determine the life of the liquid crystal module based on the above test.

The test result found that the life span of the backlight source is not as long as that of the LCD module. In other words, the life of the LCD screen is determined by the life of the backlight. From the accelerated test of cold cathode tube lamps only, the time taken to reduce the brightness to half of the original is 50,000 hours (corresponding to the service life of about 5 years), and this is defined as the life time. At present, the life time of general industrial screens is about 50,000-60,000 hours, and the life time of LCD TVs is about 100,000 hours.

In addition, due to other reasons, the service life of the LCD screen is often related to the user's usage. For example, if you use it continuously for 24 hours a day and only use it for 1 hour in a week, the lifespan of the display screen is different.

It can be said that the life of the display screen is determined by the frequency of use of the user. Although the product's use environment is specified as 0-50°C, if it is used for a long time, it is better to ensure a room temperature environment around 20°C.
