To evaluate the pros and cons of an industrial display, especially an industrial LCD, in addition to the appearance structure and material, the technical parameters of the industrial LCD can essentially help us to recognize it. Moreover, the application of displays used in industrial equipment is different from the displays used daily. In the selection, a comprehensive analysis should be considered from the aspects of optical performance and electrical performance.

The LCD monitors used in daily homes are often designed under the best distance and ideal lighting conditions. They are better achieved in terms of contrast technology. However, for industrial-grade monitors, the use conditions are more demanding. Therefore, higher-contrast monitors are best choice. For 10.4-inch, 12.1-inch or 15-inch displays used in most industrial fields, a contrast ratio of 450:1 is ideal.

Because in some industrial applications, the display of special color information has extremely high requirements for industrial liquid crystal displays. Therefore, it is very important to use the measured color as the percentage of the NTSC color saturation of the control. In LCD products, the color saturation is completely dependent on the influence of the backlight of industrial liquid crystal displays. CCF (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Screen) backlight is a very popular technology and can reach 70% and 80% of NTSC color saturation. In some industrial applications, this range is still not wide enough, and sometimes the range that needs to be achieved is close to 100% of NTSC color saturation. This kind of full color saturation is usually realized by LED backlight in LCD products.

Generally, the brightness of non-industrial LCD monitors used indoors is about 250-300nits, but this brightness level cannot meet the normal working conditions of industrial LCD monitors in an industrial display environment. This is because the ambient light will be stronger and its brightness The brightness of the LCD backlight can easily be exceeded. Moreover, touch screens are often used in industrial environments, which will also reduce the brightness of the display and make it look darker. In general applications such as medical, industrial and public telephone booths, the required brightness must reach at least 450 nits.

In general household LCD displays, a response time of less than 30ms is sufficient to meet the demand. However, in special fields, such as industrial, medical and gaming fields, in order to enable users to feel the real-time dynamic content environment, this requires industrial LCDs to have Faster response time. Among the relatively new technologies, such as AVS (Advanced Super View) technology or MVA (Multivariate VertICal Alignment) technology has made the response time less than 10ms. In industrial liquid crystal displays using ASV technology, this indicator can reach 6ms.

Daily non-industrial LCD monitors are usually designed for single use sitting directly in front of the monitor. In industrial applications, this situation is relatively rare. For example, physicians need to obtain whether the data on the display meets expectations at any time during the diagnosis and treatment process. In the navigation of ships or airplanes, there are often multiple industrial displays placed in front of the pilot, all of which face the viewer from different angles. This requires the display to have a wide viewing angle display to meet the requirements. At present, the viewing angle of high-end industrial liquid crystal displays can reach 178°.

In the field of industrial applications, in portable devices such as handheld data terminals, it is usually necessary to perform vibration tests on industrial display devices to ensure that the devices can be used normally in special environments. Even some special industrial liquid crystal displays usually have vibration damping to ensure normal display in even harsher environments.
