Core tip: After the price of TV panel rebounded slightly in October and November, the current market is no longer able to follow.
After the price of TV panel rebounded slightly in October and November, the current market is again weak. Fan Boyu, deputy general manager of research at TrendForce, a technology market research institute, believes that the rebound in panel prices is still under pressure, and the inventory level has not yet returned to the fully healthy level. Therefore, it is expected that the panel prices will be mainly stable by the end of the year, and the industry's rebound will soon see the second quarter of next year.
When it comes to TV panel prices, which have rebounded for a short time in the past two months, the recent trend is weak. Fan Boyu analyzed that the main reason is that December is approaching the end of the year. In terms of inventory adjustment and attitude, most downstream customers will be more conservative. In addition, the sales situation of the most important schedule of consumption in the mainland at the end of the year is lower than expected, and the price of the panel will not rebound again in a short time.
Fan Boyu expects that from now on to the first quarter of next year, the inventory of downstream customers will continue to be de-stocked. It is expected that by the second quarter of next year, the inventory of downstream customers will be almost cleared and have returned to a healthy level. The production end will also start to prepare for the demand in the second half of the year from the second quarter of next year. It is expected that the demand will gradually rise and drive the price rebound.
On the other hand, Yonhap quoted industry sources on the 19th to report that LG Display, a large Korean panel manufacturer, will stop producing LCD TV panels as soon as the end of this year, which is related to two factors: the continuous decline in profits and the intensification of market competition. A source said that, subject to the low market conditions of the panel, LGD is also considering allowing factory employees to take paid leave, and the market is concerned about the impact of a series of actions of LGD on the global LCD supply.
LGD said in the declaration document last week that it was re-evaluating the matter of stopping the production of LCD TV panels at Poju factory in Korea, but did not mention the exact date of the stop. LGD continues to reduce the scale of LCD TV panel business and hopes to stop the production of this continuously money-losing business in China as soon as possible.
