In many cases, LCD screens need to be used in low temperature environments, such as HTN LCD screens and STN LCD screens. Do you know the difference between the display effects of HTN LCD screens and STN LCD screens in low temperature environments? The following is a detailed introduction for everyone:
The glass types for monochromatic LCD screens generally include: TN, HTN, STN and VA, which are the more common glass types. TN, HTN and STN glass are mostly used in the market.
The relationship between their viewing angle and refresh speed is: TN<HTN<STN. Usually, the display effect we say is generally reflected in two aspects: viewing angle and refresh speed. Therefore, TN is often used in occasions with lower cost requirements, and STN is used in relatively high-end products. But even for the same type of glass, voltage, bias ratio, number of COMs, and even the driving capability of the circuit will affect the display effect at low temperatures. Today, let me take you to understand the two types of HTN and STN.
We took a piece of LCD screen with exactly the same parameters for low temperature test (close size, 6-point viewing angle, voltage is 5V, 8COM, working temperature is minus 40 degrees), the test results are as follows:
From the perspective, STN is definitely better than HTN. At a temperature of minus 40 degrees, the glass of HTN has been whitened from a 12-point viewing angle, and there is no obvious change in the viewing angle of STN.
There is a clear difference in refresh speed. The refresh speed of STN is significantly better than that of HTN. At minus 40 degrees, STN glass is the first to go from full display to white screen, and the time to restore full display is also significantly faster than HTN.
Our tests are all tested with professional electrical testing machines. The drive capability is much stronger than that of ordinary drive chips. The refresh of normal drive chips is slower than we saw, so the impact in actual use will be greater. , Therefore, for products that require refresh speed, we must consider it in advance, because only professional LCD screen manufacturers can think of such problems in advance for customers.
