The gray scale of a full-color LED display is a kind of gray scale, which is how many shades a color can have from light to dark. When using digital display technology, the grayscale of a full-color LED display is the main factor that affects the number of colors displayed. Generally speaking, the higher the gray level, the richer the displayed colors, the more delicate the picture, and the easier it is to show rich details.
Full color LED display
The principle of grayscale imaging of full-color LED display:
The gray level of a full-color LED display mainly depends on the number of digital and analog-to-digital conversion. Indeed, the video processing chip, memory and transmission system in the system all need corresponding digital support. Now the main applications of full-color LED display are:
1. An 8-bit processing system, that is, 256 (2 to the 8th power) gray scale. The simple understanding is that there are 256 brightness changes from black to white.
2. A 10-bit processing system, which is 1024 (2 to the 10th power) gray scale. The simple understanding is that there are 1024 brightness changes from black to white.
3. A 12-bit processing system, that is, 4096 (2 to the 12th power) gray scale. The simple understanding is that there are 4096 brightness changes from black to white.
4. 14-bit processing system, that is, 16384 (2 to the 14th power) gray scale. The simple understanding is that there are 16384 brightness changes from black to white.
How to identify the brightness level of full-color LED display
The brightness discrimination of a full-color LED display refers to the brightness level of the image that can be distinguished by the human eye from the darkest to the whitest. Some of the previously mentioned monitors have very high gray levels, which can reach 256 or even 1024 levels. However, due to the limited sensitivity of human eyes to brightness, these gray levels cannot be fully recognized. That is, there may be many adjacent levels of grayscale that look the same. And everyone's eyes distinguish differently. For a full-color LED display, the higher the level of human eye recognition, the better, because after all, the image displayed is for people to see. The higher the brightness level that human eyes can distinguish, the greater the color space of the full-color LED display, and the greater the possibility of displaying rich colors. Full-color LED display brightness level identification can be tested with special software. Generally, a full-color LED display can reach a level of 20 or more, even if it is a good level.
At present, the 4096-level or 16384-level gray scale or above referred to by some domestic full-color LED display control system suppliers refers to the gray scale space obtained after nonlinear transformation. Among them, 4096 levels use 8-bit to 12-bit space nonlinear transformation technology, and 16384 levels use 8-bit to 16-bit nonlinear transformation technology. The non-linear transformation of the eight-bit source will definitely result in a larger conversion space than the eight-bit source. Usually at least ten people. Like the gray scale of a full-color LED display, this parameter is not as big as possible. Generally, 12 bits can complete enough transformations.
