What Is Resolution

Resolution is a very important performance index. It refers to the number of points that can be displayed horizontally and vertically in the screen. The lines and surfaces displayed on the screen are all made up of dots.  The higher the resolution is, the more information can be accommodated in the same screen. For a CRT that can support 1280x1024 resolution, whether 320x240 or 1280x1024 resolution, can be perfectly expressed. (Because the electron beam can be adjusted elastically.)  But its maximum resolution is not necessarily the most appropriate resolution.  Because if the 17 inch display goes to 1280x1024 resolution, the font of WINDOWS will be very small.  Time is long and eyes are easy to fatigue. Therefore, the best resolution of the 17 inch display should be 1024x768.

But for LCD, it is not. The maximum resolution of LCD is its true resolution.  That is the best resolution. Once the resolution is less than the real resolution (For example, 15 inches LCD,Its true resolution is 1024X768, and the resolution in WINDOWS is 800x600.) There are two ways to display. First, center display. Only 800x600 points in the middle of LCD will display images.  Other points that are not used will not shine. Keep the dark background. It looks like the picture is shrinking. The other is extended display. This way will be used on every pixel on the screen. But because pixels are prone to distortions. So it will have a certain effect on the display effect. So in any case, when choosing LCD, we should pay attention to the resolution is not the bigger the better, but the appropriate use.
